There are a lot of recipes that you can find by googling. When I try out new recipes from a different culture, I try to be cautious about buying a lot of new expensive ingredients that I may never use again. For example, if the recipe calls for just one tablespoon of sesame oil, you can probably just use any vegetable oil, because it's not using enough to give it much flavor anyway. And some of the ingredients don't make sense to me anyway. Why would you need rock salt in order to make a kim chi brine? If you are dissolving the salt in water for a brine, then you wouldn't be able to taste what the original state of the salt was anyway.
